Raikkonen says DRS is not real overtaking

Raikkonen says DRS is "not real overtaking"

Kimi Raikkonen has claimed that overtakes with DRS is "not real" and that overtaking opportunities depend on the track layout.

It's clear that some circuits are harder to overtake than others, with the likes of Spa and Monza easier than Monaco or the Hungaroring.

DRS was introduced to F1 in 2011, and whilst it has made overtaking easier, there are still claims about the falseness of the racing.

According to Formel1.de, Raikkonen, who made his debut in 2001, looked back to his early years in the sport, saying: "In pure numbers it may have been less [overtaking], but with DRS this is sometimes not a real overtaking, you just drive past.

"It's all in the track layout, and looking at Spa, they've always had good races there, and on some tracks, that's how it is."
