Pierre Gasly says he will be giving it everything during the French Grand Prix to please the home fans.

Last season, his home race lasted just a matter of corners having been forced to retire on the opening lap due to contact.

The Red Bull man has had a relatively difficult start to his time with the senior team having moved from Toro Rosso for 2019.

Despite being out-performed regularly by teammate Max Verstappen, Gasly's support is said to be solid from within the team as rumours swirl around his future with the team.

As Formula 1 heads back to France, Gasly says he is looking forward to receiving extra support on home soil, adding that he will be giving it everything in front of his home fans.

"Many people will come to encourage me, that makes it special," Gasly is quoted by Formule1.

“It is a special weekend, I am really looking forward to it. I will do everything to get the best out of it, it is a great opportunity to do well for the eyes of my countrymen.

“There will be a nice atmosphere. I love Paul Ricard, I've driven well here in the past. In the F4 I won the race.

"Now I am going to drive it with Red Bull, a competitive car, it makes me excited. I'm going to give everything."
