Kevin Magnussen says he is feeling confident of a strong result for Haas at the Spanish Grand Prix. The Dane lines up P8 on the grid, one place behind his teammate, Romain Grosjean.

Magnussen has been the sole source of the American team's point so far in 2019 but with both drivers well inside the top 10 for the race tomorrow, the chances of a double points finish appear to be high.

Speaking to media after qualifying, the Haas driver said he was hoping for a good result on Sunday and added that the long runs had been an improvement over what the team had expected.

"I’m very hopeful that this track is better for us," he said.

"It looked ok in the long runs yesterday, not as good as qualifying but a little bit better than in previous races and this track is one that is pretty hard to overtake so the guys behind need to be quite a lot faster to get past us.

“Of course I’m nervous after the first races of the year where we’ve been struggling in the race but also we’ve brought some upgrades to the car this weekend and, as I said, long runs on Friday looked better than the previous races so I’m positive we can have a good race tomorrow.”
