Raikkonen thinks Spain "should be easier" for Alfa after P10 in Baku

Alfa Romeo Racing driver Kimi Raikkonen has revealed the team already knew about the front wing potentially being an issue since China, as Raikkonen was forced to start from the pitlane because the front wing breached the rules.

The 39-year-old salvaged a point for Alfa Romeo in the end, finishing tenth and keeping his streak of points-scoring alive. It could have been more, however, had he not been disqualified.

Raikkonen revealed Alfa knew about the issue, but the front wing modification didn't give them a performance advantage.

"Last race I had an issue at the end of the race with a broken stay on the front wing and we lost the downforce. So probably it is a similar thing that has caused it, unfortunately," the Finn was quoted by F1i.com.

"We knew the issue after the last race but we didn’t have time to produce a new one so this is what you get. It surely doesn’t make us faster but this is what it is. Hopefully then it’s fair for everybody."

The former champion put in another impressive shift, as he remains the only driver outside of the top three teams to have scored points in all races so far this season.

"We got one point, so better than nothing, but [it] was difficult, just not enough grip really," he continued.

"I don't think we really made the tyres work really well, to get the grip out of it. We did what we could.

"I think one point obviously is the best that we could do today, so we'll take it. I think next race should be easier for us."
