Daniel Ricciardo admits he still needs to get more comfortable with the Renault car despite getting chance to record extra mileage during the post-Bahrain Grand Prix test. He heads to China as the reigning race winner after producing a stunning drive in his Red Bull 12 months ago.

Ricciardo is yet to finish a Formula 1 race this season after his front wing ripped off in Australia and an engine failure in Bahrain. Even though the Australian isn't fully comfortable, he expresses he is getting more and more accustomed to his new surroundings.

“I’m certainly getting there in terms of extracting the maximum and getting more comfortable. These things do take time, but it’s good to iron out these details,” he told RaceFans.

“We’ll get there soon and sure enough and I’m confident we’re heading in the right direction. We showed signs of that over the race weekend, going from a struggle on Friday, followed by an improvement on Saturday to being in and amongst it on Sunday.

“The car clearly has pace, but for me, it’s about finding all of it. I feel there’s a lot more to come.”

Renault would have achieved double points finish in Bahrain if it wasn't for the simultaneous retirements. Nico Hulkenberg scored six points in the opening race of the season as they look to remain 'best of the rest'.
