Haas F1 driver Kevin Magnussen is not convinced that Formula 1 needed to include an extra and third DRS zone to help overtaking in the Bahrain Grand Prix.

For the 2019 season, a third DRS zone has been added to the Bahrain International Circuit between turns three and four on the straight. There is already two DRS zones on the track on the pit-straight and from turns 10 to 11.

"I think this was a track that was easy to overtake (at) already," Magnussen told RaceFans in Bahrain ahead of the weekend. "So, for me, it's not the most necessary. I think other tracks need it more."

But Magnussen admitted he won't have any complaints if he can gain an advantage from the extra zone in the race on Sunday.

"It's hard to say what is too easy," the Dane added. "If it comes out to my advantage then I'll be saying that it's perfect. If it doesn't, then I will say the opposite.

"It is what it is. Hopefully, it will improve the racing, the show, for people watching. I think it's a good track. It's got a bit of everything. You've got some fast corners, good braking and overtaking opportunities. You can race here, it's a good place to race."
