Steiner says 'everyone can adopt our model' in response to 'B-team' critics

Guenther Steiner has said that the relationship between his team and Ferrari is within the rules. There have been some calls from other teams for the relationship between those two teams to be ended as they are a 'B-team' to Ferrari. Renault and Racing Point have been lobbying to try and end the relationships that bigger teams have with smaller ones.

Steiner is very critical of the calls that Haas is a 'B-team' to Ferrari and believes that the other teams are just wanting to end Haas' performance.

"They want to take something away from us to harm us and better themselves," Steiner said to autoweek.com.

"We chose this model because the rules allow it," said Steiner. "It has proven itself, especially for new teams who would otherwise have no chance to enter Formula 1. So why change it? Everyone can adopt our model.

"I don't try to tell Renault what they should do."

Racing Point believes that some Formula 1 team are too close to each other.

"Nobody can tell me that there is no data being exchanged there," an unnamed team member of Racing Point told German media outlet Auto Motor und Sport.

"Sauber's technical boss, Simone Resta, came directly from Ferrari to Switzerland (Alfa Romeo's team headquarters) and there wasn't even the usual gardening leave. It means both teams know from the other what developments work and how, so they can divide the work between themselves."

Currently, no team has been found to have broken any rules but we will have to see.
