Nico Rosberg criticizes 'narcissist' Max Verstappen

In Nico Rosberg's latest podcast episode, the former World Champion called Max Verstappen a 'narcissist.' The former Mercedes driver was joined by Toto Wolff and the two talked about all sorts. The conversation turned to the young Dutchman and Rosberg had some strong opinions about the Red Bull driver.

"If you look up 'narcissist' in the dictionary, you will find Max Verstappen," said Rosberg.

"Still, it works for him because he has a lot of talent. And because of that, he is still successful. Being extremely narcissistic can be a force, and perhaps the most powerful characteristic you can have."

"How can you not doubt yourself? if you make the same mistake six times? And the seventh time you do the same."

Toto Wolff was quick to defend the young driver and said that "there is a part in his life that we don't see, for example, the relationship with his father. I think Jos gives his son very direct feedback. He certainly doesn't restrain himself.

"And Max's behaviour is self-assured, bordering on the self-assured. But let's not forget that he is very young. (...) The older he gets, the more mature he gets and grows. He'll get his anger under control. If you remember how you were when you were nineteen, twenty - I know what I was like, you'll see another story. You have to include his age."

Max Verstappen divides opinion. Some see him as an overconfident driver whilst others believe that he has the talent to go and become one of the best drivers of this generation. It will be interesting to see if Verstappen responds with another solid race this weekend.
