New Racing Point driver Lance Stroll is delighted to finally, once again, "have a race car" following his positive start to life with his new team.

Stroll spent last season at the dismal Williams, who finished rock-bottom of the constructors' championship. At times, the young Canadian showed glimpses of his quality in the Williams car, but the car was a disaster - meaning he could only pick up six points all campaign.

A year later, following his father, Lawrence Stroll's takeover of Force India (now Racing Point), things are looking brighter for Stroll. He partners Sergio Perez, replacing Esteban Ocon for this season at the British side.

The 20-year-old managed a ninth-place finish in Australia at the weekend, four places above his new team-mate Perez (13th).

After the race, Stroll said excitedly: "Finally I have a race car! I'm really happy with my race. We had a good pace and kept our rivals behind us. This is what I expected before the season."

Stroll qualified in 16th-place, and shot up the grid (aided by a few retirements, of course), but overall drove a very impressive race on his debut for Racing Point - and has put the pressure on Perez already to compete with him this season, after many questioned the decision from the hierarchy at the team to pick him instead of the impressive Ocon for this season.
