Otmar Szafnauer has demanded his Racing Point team to keep its "efficiency" after the team was financially saved from administration last season.

Racing Point, formerly Force India, was pressed into administration by their own driver Sergio Perez last summer, but the situation was soon resolved by Lawrence Stroll and his consortium not too long after.

Force India have performed above realistic expectations in the last few seasons, considering the budget restrictions they faced.

Team principal, Szafnauer, who took over from Robert Fernley following Stroll's takeover has expressed his wish for the team to keep the "efficiency" that has seen them become one of the strongest midfield teams on the grid.

"It is something that I've told everybody, even though the financial pressures are not going to be there quite like they were before," Szafnauer told Channel 4.

"We cannot lose the ethos and DNA of the team; which is to be able to do things efficiently."

Szafnauer then went on and admitted his team will never have "infinite" money.

"We can't and must not lose that efficiency," he continued. "Because it doesn't matter who you are, budgets are still capped, we don't have an infinite amount of money. So, we will still have constraints. We will just be able to pay our suppliers on time."
