Hulkenberg expects Ricciardo to dish-out secret Red Bull information

Nico Hulkenberg believes Daniel Ricciardo will give Renault vital information about their rivals when he arrives ahead of the 2019 season. The Australian moves from Red Bull after a 10-year tenure.

Hulkenberg, who has been racing for Renault since 2017 is excited by the prospect of Ricciardo's arrival. He suggests the team need a fresh set of eyes, and someone coming from a rival team who are slightly ahead could help improve car set-ups.

"He's going to bring a breath of fresh air, and he'll certainly have some important information coming from Red Bull," the German told AMUS.

"Some things like how to adjust the car for example. I think it will be interesting for us. We drivers are not technicians and certainly not aerodynamicists so he can not say 'we must do like this or that'. Unfortunately, it does not work that way.

"But he could help us by explaining what Red Bull did when setting up the car or what systems they have on their car."

Red Bull must have somewhat foreseen this. They prevented Ricciardo from testing with Renault during the post-Abu Dhabi Grand Prix tests right at the end of the season. Renault's battle with Red Bull could last all season as they both look to move towards the top of the grid in 2020.
