Claire Williams: "Most painful experiences of my life"

Claire Williams suggests seeing her family team struggling at the bottom of the table is "one of the most painful experiences". In Monza, with the help of Grosjean's disqualification, Williams had both cars inside the points. Sergey Sirotkin scored the first point of his F1 career.

"I did read the other day about somebody saying they didn't think Williams felt pain anymore when we don't do well," deputy boss Claire Williams told Reuters.

"For me, this has been up there with one of the most painful experiences of my life. This team is like another sibling to me. It feels like another one of my children. I take a huge sense of personal responsibility for it."

You'd think she'd be desperate to make personnel changes ready for a revitalisation. But Williams is holding back from a knee-jerk reaction.

"One person can't change the world. No one person is the magician. They at least need to be afforded some time to demonstrate their talent and to implement changes. There would be no point making a rash decision because you're only going to end up in the same place," Williams added.

Williams are in an interesting position. They've bounced back from similar situations before, but with a lack of money, it's going to be difficult.
