Toro Rosso driver Pierre Gasly is not happy with Fernando Alonso following car damage caused by the Spaniard in the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday.

Alonso eventually had to retire from the race at Monza, following some reliability issues with his MCL33.

Gasly managed to finish the race, unlike his team-mate Brendon Hartley - the French driver finished in P14.

The two were neck and neck at one stage for a brief period of yesterday's drama and the soon-to-be Red Bull driver Gasly has given his view on the incident.

"I tried to stay on the track as much as I could be but he just didn't leave me space so I had to jump over the kerb and then also touched me and completely damaged all the right side of my floor," Gasly revealed following the race.

"From there on, I think it was eight or something my car was completely broken and I was sliding everywhere."

Gasly also had some strong comments on Alonso's "aggressive" style of driving.

"I think for sure his outlook is a bit different because he knows he's not going to be in F1 anymore next year so it looks like he is even more aggressive than he used to be," Gasly claimed.

"For me, what he did was unfair and we know that if you are alongside you need to give the space of one car and today he didn't. I know he doesn't like us because we have the Honda engine but nevertheless.

"I think it's not something to talk together but I'm not the kind of guy to make a big story out of things. If I have something to say I'll tell him face-to-face."
