Sauber chairman Pascal Picci reveals his ambition of finishing inside the top four for the 2019 F1 season.

Sauber have huge ambitions for their near future and want to finish inside the top four next season.

Charles Leclerc and Marcus Ericsson have scored eighteen points between the pair this season, a tally that is a huge improvement on last season's five points for the whole season.

The highlight of Sauber's season was Leclerc finishing in P6 in Azerbaijan - the first time since 2015 (Chinese Grand Prix) where Sauber were able to finish so high up on race day.

Pascal Picci, Sauber's chairman, says there is motivation to succeed at Sauber and that a fourth placed finish next season is realistic, despite what team principal Frederic Vasseur believes.

"This is the first car that we are able to produce," Picci told Motorsport.com.

"The concept was fantastic, and you will be seeing that there will be improvements more and more frequently, regularly.

"It's our ambition next year to be the fourth team. This is our ambition. I know I exaggerate, Fred is telling me that I am! But if you don't have dreams, then you dont succeed very often.

"We are really at our own pace, which was our view from the start. We are totally committed to success, and we will do anything for this."
