Chase Carey believes that Formula One has become more "fun" since Liberty Media took over ownership of the sport from Bernie Ecclestone. The chief executive of F1 rated the sports new era highly, saying that F1 was improving the show both on and off of the track.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Carey admitted that whilst he felt things were going well, it was too early to celebrate the successes Liberty feel they have had since taking over.

"It's too early to celebrate," he said.

"But it's interesting that in Germany some people came to me and said that it was more fun than it was two years ago.

"We are well on the way to improving the show on and off the track. We've seen some great races and the fight at the top is very exciting."

Carey went on to admit that F1 was still aiming higher, with the intention of promoting F1 further and advertising the sport as more entertaining.

"Formula 1 is all about the heroes, who stimulate people's imaginations, just like in the movies.

"We have strong brands and great teams here, but ultimately it's the drivers who play the main role in this sport."
