Kimi Raikkonen says "a lot of things" are falling in place for his team, Ferrari.

Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen believes that "a lot of things" are falling into place for the Italian side, but he says that there is still room to improve for the second-placed team.

The Italian team are closer than they have been for a while to Mercedes following their dominant years and Raikkonen has supported Sebastian Vettel with eight podium finishes this season.

Raikkonen is yet to win a race this campaign, but the 38-year-old has been on good form and sits third in the drivers' standings.

"We have a decent car, we keep improving things," Raikkonen said to PlanetF1.

"It's a lot to do with the feel, how you feel the car and tyres and all these things.

"Obviously some circuits are better, some conditions are better for one team than other, and I think we've been pretty okay most of the places.

"I think a lot of things are falling in the right places. There's still things to improve for us as a whole team, but that's never-ending.

"It doesn't matter, even if you win all the races there's always things to improve.

"That kind of area in this sport will never stop and I don't think you are ever good enough in many ways."

Raikkonen's Ferrari future is still uncertain and there's been strong speculation that Sauber driver Charles Leclerc is set to replace the Finn at the Italian giants for next season.
