Kimi Raikkonen is still waiting on a final decision from Ferrari to whether he will be driving for them in the 2019 season.

There has been mass amounts of speculation that Sauber driver Charles Leclerc will replace the Finn for next season as Ferrari look towards their future.

Leclerc has impressed immensely this season in his debut season in the sport with Sauber and many are saying he could be the perfect replacement for Raikkonen.

However, since the tragic death of Sergio Marchionne, it is reported that the new management at Ferrari could potentially be wanting Raikkonen to remain alongside Sebastian Vettel at Ferrari.

"Of course I would like to stay, but it's Ferrari's decision alone," Raikkonen said to Sport Bild.

"I'm waiting just as much as you are."

Raikkonen, who is now 38-years-old believes that he works very well alongside his team-mate Vettel.

"Even if we crash, there's no issue after a conversation," Raikkonen added.

"He's a guy who will say it's his mistake and I'm the same. It's much better to work in that atmosphere, and it also makes the car faster.

"We both have the same goal - to make Ferrari the world champion."

Raikkonen has als admitted that sometimes he has been Vettel's 'number two' but says he's fine with that if the German has a better chance of winning the world championship.

"At a certain point in the world championship, the team takes precedence. I did not arrive yesterday," Raikkonen finally added.
