Carlos Sainz Jr. confirms that he will not make a final decision on his future for next season until Daniel Ricciardo officially signs a new deal with Red Bull.

Daniel Ricciardo is reportedly close to agreeing a new deal at Red Bull, with some reports saying that the Aussie wants it done before the Formula One summer break is underway following the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Renault driver Carlos Sainz Jr. is only on loan at the French manufacturer from Red Bull, and it looks like the Spaniard would be called upon by his team if Ricciardo was to leave Red Bull.

Force India driver Esteban Ocon has been looked at by Renault as a potential Sainz replacement, as Cyril Abiteboul begins to look elsewhere before leaving their plans too last minute for 2019.

Sainz is keen to sign a two-year contract regardless of where it's at, as he looks to solidify his spot in Formula One for the next two seasons.

"Nothing has been announced recently," Sainz told Crash.net.

"Nothing has changed from my contractual situation together with Red Bull and Renault.

"Until those two parties don't move and they don't know what Ricciardo is doing etc., my situation still doesn't change.

"My priority is to find a place that I'm comfortable with. I've already spoken about a two-year deal. First my priority is what Red Bull and Ricciardo are doing and then myself, together with my management team, we'll find a solution, I'm sure."
