Charles Leclerc is looking to put the disappointing result from Silverstone behind him as Formula One returns to Hockenheim this weekend. The Monegasque driver was forced to retire after a wheel wasn't properly attached to his Sauber during his pit stop.

In his race preview, Leclerc said he was looking forward to returning to Hockenheim and wants to get back on track by scoring points, something he has started to make a serious habit out of in his rookie season.

“The Hockenheimring is a circuit that I know well, especially from my time in Formula 3. It is quite a technical track, with an impressive stadium that is usually filled with many spectators.

“I really look forward to going back there – it is great to have the German Grand Prix back on the calendar. Hopefully we can build on the progress we have made in the last few races, and keep fighting for points.”

The Sauber driver had been on a points-scoring streak up until Silverstone, finishing the previous three races in the top ten. It has put him on the radar of Ferrari who, if rumours are to be believed, are considering him to replace Kimi Raikkonen for the 2019 season.

His form since graduating from Formula 2 has been impressive, to say the least, scoring the majority of Sauber's constructors' points with performances that have got most of the paddock talking.
