Zak Brown confirms there has been no talks with Kimi Raikkonen about a switch to McLaren yet.

McLaren Chief Executive Brown has confirmed that negotiations haven't begun about the possibility of taking Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen on a deal for next season.

Raikkonen was a McLaren driver between 2002-06 and has been rumoured to be interested in a move back to his former side.

Ferrari have been linked with a move for Sauber's Charles Leclerc as they look to replace the Finn, who hasn't lived up to expectations this season so far.

Fernando Alonso looks increasingly likely to quit Formula One at the end of the season, leaving a space in McLaren's paddock for Raikkonen.

Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo has also been linked with a switch to struggling McLaren.

"We did not negotiate with Kimi," Brown said to Finland's C More.

"He's a very good driver. The summer is now underway, so there is a lot of options out there, but we keep them to our self.

"Certainly Kimi is a world champion and he won many races for us. If he is available, you'd be a fool to ignore it."

Raikkonen sits third in the drivers standings but is more than 50 points behind his team mate Sebastian Vettel.

The Finn has the most podium finishes this season without being able to win a race.
