Did Formula 1's first ever triple header work?

Silverstone marked the final chapter of sports first ever tripleheader. All involved, including us journalists, come out of it feeling very tired. But was it successful?

It covered three very popular venues, with plenty of fans visiting. We had the fans who missed the watching F1 in France, the Dutch fans in Austria, and the passionate British crowd at Silverstone. But really, it wasn't about the fans, it was more about location.

The logistics team had to drive across Europe and back within three weeks. Spare a thought for those guys. In Austria, many teams didn't use their usual motorhomes, and by the time we reached Britain everyone was feeling it.

On the track, there was plenty of action. The Mercedes double retirement, certainly made Austria interesting. And then the closing laps of the British Grand Prix gave fans edge of the seat action.

I guess at the end of the day, it worked because of the action on the track. But when asking people if they'd do it again, would they? I doubt you'd get many people keen to do it due to the tiredness.

It has, however, set up a great rest of the season. Over the three weeks, Ferrari have got closer and finally matched Mercedes. As fans, we've got a season full of action, tense nerves and drama
