Now that F1's first tripleheader is out of the way, the football can finally take centre stage...okay maybe the football was already number one, but we take a look at tonight's huge semi-final clash in true F1 style!

English stars have a rich history in Formula 1, and that continues today with current World Champion Lewis Hamilton ruling the ways. How about Croatia? They currently have zero drivers in F1, they haven't got any former F1 drivers. The country has never hosted a Grand Prix.

1-0 England.

The referee for tonight's game is Cuneyt Cakir from Turkey. And in terms of the Turkish Grand Prix, England haven't had much success. Felipe Massa won three of the seven races, the most out of any other driver. Brazil have beaten England on this occasion, and perhaps England drivers aren't best at working in Turkey!

England 1 - 1 Croatia

So without direct comparison, how have English formula 1 stars performed in Russia?

Since the first official F1 Grand Prix at Russia in 2014, England have won 50% of the races. Lewis Hamilton winning it back-to-back in 2014 and 2015. In 2014, Jenson Button came home in fourth place helping England fly the flag. That's another goal for England.

England 2 - 1 Croatia

If Croation fans are to watch an F1 race, it's likely to be the Hungarian Grand Prix. Hamilton holds the most victories at this track, while fellow English driver Damon Hill also has two wins to his name. It's turning into a thrashing!

England 3 - 1 Croatia

So that's our prediction based on English F1 performances. Okay, it's just a little bit of fun, and we hope you enjoyed the article almost as much as tonight's match!
