Esteban Ocon says he is 'really happy' with his personal result in the British Grand Prix.

The Frenchman secured another six points in the drivers' standings with an impressive seventh place finish on Sunday.

The Force India driver managed to stay out of the mayhem that occured in the opening lap and managed to shrug off Fernando Alonso and Kevin Magnussen to secure seventh place.

This result means that he's finished in the top ten in four out of the last five races to continue his impressive season.

"I'm really happy with the result today," Ocon said.

"Seventh place feels good after such a difficult race.

"The safety car didn't make things easy because the tyres were cold at the restarts and it was not easy to keep Fernando (Alonso) and Kevin (Magnussen) behind me in the last few laps.

"I feel very tired mentally because it was a really big fight until the end."

Ocon's seventh place finish comes a week after his sixth place finish in Austria.

These impressive results has seen him leapfrog his team mate Sergio Perez in the Drivers' Championship standings.

"It's important that we scored more points to add the good points we picked up in Austria last week," said Ocon.

"The car is getting better and we are racing well so I have to say 'thank you' to the team for all of their hard work.

"We keep pushing and the results are coming."
