Pierre Gasly labels five-second penalty against him as "ridiculous", following collision with Sergio Perez.

Gasly is furious with the penalty he got given following his collision with Perez yesterday.

The five-second penalty meant that Force India's Perez finished above the Toro Rosso driver and claimed tenth place.

The pair were battling for that position and Gasly made slight contact with Perez as he looked for the overtake on the penultimate lap.

Silverstone stewards made the ruling for the five-second penalty as they believe Gasly was "wholly or predominantly to blame" for the collision, and "while the collision was light it led directly to the pass".

As a result of the penalty, Gasly finished down in 13th place.

This meant the Toro Rosso driver finished below the likes of Perez, Stoffel Vandoorne and Lance Stroll and ended up with a disappointing result at Silverstone.

Gasly took to Instagram to express his anger and described the ruling as "Bull****".

"Every weekends there are contacts with no further action, that's part of racing and what makes it exciting! Was close battle, I enjoyed it. Just let us race and stop all this bull**** with penalties! Will keep fighting."
