Wolff: Triple header will test teams "to their limits"

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff says that the upcoming three races in three weekends will be a tough test for all teams as F1 embarks on a triple header for the first time in history.

We start in France, on a new track for the teams, Paul Ricard. The circuit in the South of France has not been used for F1 since 1990, so will provide a challenge for the teams to get used to.

“France should be an interesting race,” said Wolff. “We don’t often get to race on a track where we have little to no historical data.

“It makes preparing for the weekend a bit trickier than usual, but the element of the unknown also adds to the challenge.”

The F1 circus then moves on to Austria and Great Britain, before the teams get a well-deserved break.

Wolff says that three races in a row will push the teams to their limits: “The triple header will test all F1 teams to their limits, but also offers the chance to score a lot of points over the course of three weeks – which is precisely what we’re setting out to do.”
