After being criticized by Formula 2 driver Artjom Markelow, Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko hit back by saying that nobody in the world has brought more people to the F1 than him.

Markelow was one of the many names that was mentioned for a potential seat in 2018 at Toro Rosso amidst all the Brendon Hartley speculation. The Russian criticized Marko for "destroying the careers of young drivers" which is something that Marko himself, of course, doesn't resonate with.

"Nobody has brought so many people to F1," Marko told Motorsport-Total.

He did say that he "couldn't contradict" Markelow in terms of his own career.

"We can not destroy anything because he will not make a career.

"If you have to drive four years in Formula 2 and GP2 to finally win, that's not a man for us."

That's brutal for 23-year-old Markelow, whose currently in his fifth season in the Formula 2. He's second in the championship with eight wins so far.
