He only made up one place from where he started in the Canadian Grand Prix, but Renault's Carlos Sainz Jr is still happy with the double points finish him and his teammate Nico Hulkenberg achieved.

The Spaniard qualified in ninth place, but overtook Force India's Esteban Ocon to finish in P8. Not the most eventful race ever for Sainz, but he's still content with the overall team performance.

"The goal was to finish in the points with both cars and we succeeded, largely thanks to the perfects tactics of the team," Sainz reflected on the race.

"Thanks to the strategy we could get in front of Ocon and we managed to save the tyres until the end of the race.

"A good result despite the fact that it was a relatively boring race."

Renault will be happy with a P7 and P8 double, which is basically a one-two if you're not either Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull. The French outfit are establishing themselves as the 'best of the rest', a title that went to Force India the last two years. The Pink Panthers have looked better lately, but are behind Renault by some distance because of their very slow start.
