Valtteri Bottas believes that talks with Mercedes about a possible extension on his current contract with the team are imminent. The Finn was brought in to replace Nico Rosberg for 2017, however there have been rumours that he could be replaced after a disappointing debut season with the team.

Drivers such as Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon have been tipped to replace Bottas however the man himself isn't worried and believes talks will happen sooner rather than later.

"Certainly before the summer break we will talk, and hopefully we will find common ground very quickly. I see no reason why not," he said.

"So far we haven't talked about that and we don't during a race weekend. But I've made progress with the team all the time, and I just have to keep going in the same way, so everything is fine," he added.
