There was carnage on the first lap of the Brazilian GP as Daniel Ricciardo, Stoffel Vandoorne, Kevin Magnussen and Esteban Ocon were all involved in collisions.
In Vandoorne, Magnussen and Ocon's case, the crashes resulted in early retirements from the penultimate race of the season.

The Grand Prix started with Sebastian Vettel diving up the inside of the pole-sitting Valtteri Bottas into Turn One, but Ricciardo was soon spinning after being run wide at Turn Three, making contact with Vandoorne who in turn was squeezed by Magnussen.
And a few corners later, Romain Grosjean oversteered his Haas into the side of Ocon's Force India, resulting in heavy damage and a puncture.
Ocon, who had set a record for consecutive race finishes as a rookie before the Brazil GP, was forced to retire. Grosjean was subsequently handed a 10-second penalty by the stewards.
The numerous collisions resulted in an early Safety Car and several pitstops, which played into Lewis Hamilton's hands after a pitlane start.
