Bottas tops second practice as Ferrari edge closer
Finnish Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas continued to lead the field in the second free practice session at Silverstone. Lewis Hamilton was again a close second as both Ferrari drivers managed to jump the Red Bull duo to go thrid and fourth fastest.
The session saw Raikkonen go faster than his team mate again, despite a high speed spin at Becketts, basically ruining a set of soft tyres.
Max Verstappen remained the fastest Red Bull Racing driver, 4 tenths quicker than his team mate, Daniel Ricciardo. The latter did however not run the super soft tyre as the team were splitting strategies to determine the durability of both compounds. The duo were ahead of Ferrari in first practice, but the improved pace displayed by the Scuderia cars saw them drop down the pecking order.
Nico Hulkenberg ended the session 7th fastest, ahead of Massa, Alonso and Ocon.
