Russell backs Schumacher for Formula 1 return

Article To news overview © XPBimages George Russell has praised the work contribution made by Mick Schumacher in his short time as reserve driver, and believes he can return to a full-time Formula 1 drive. Schumacher's career as a full-time driver was paused after his dismissal from the Haas team at the end of 2022, who elected to give their second race seat to Nico Hulkenberg for 2023. With no race seat for 2023, Schumacher took up a reserve driver role with Mercedes, and has been completing various simulator sessions with the team, and was present during their preseason testing schedule.
