Official | Audi have already acquired a minority stake in the Sauber Group

Sauber have revealed in a press release that Audi have secured a minority stake in the team this month (January 2023). This marks the first step towards the full name change in 2026.  Article continues under ad Audi have secured a minority share in the Sauber Group, effective from January 2023. In October it was announced that there would be a cooperation with the German car manufacturer from 2026 and it was also hinted that there would be a step-by-step takeover. The first step has now been taken. Andreas Seidl, the new CEO of the Sauber Group, must manage this transfer from Alfa Romeo to Audi.
