F1 teams to receive extra allowance for 2023 Sprint races

Article To news overview © Getty Images / Red Bull Content Pool Sprint races are now firmly part of the Formula 1 calendar, with their inclusion set to expand further for the 2023 season. Six events are planned throughout the campaign, up from the three that have been held in both 2021 and 2022 as the new format is trialled. There were some disagreements earlier in the year about the doubling of the number of the Saturday events, but terms were finalised between F1 and the FIA. In the 2022 season, teams had an allowance of $150,000 USD per Sprint race to be deducted from the end of year costs, with a further $100,000 available for damage repair.
