Briatore calls FIA 'inadequate' after tardy Singapore GP decision

Former Renault F1 team boss Flavio Briatore has taken aim at the FIA, calling the governing body's stewards "inadequate" due to their tardy confirmation of Sergio Perez's win in last Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix. While Perez's winning merits at Marina Bay suffered no discussions, race control evidently thought the Mexican's transgression of F1's Safety Car rules warranted a multi-hour debate. Perez was placed under investigation after the race for failing to maintain ten car lengths in two separate Safety Car periods, from lap 8 to 10 and then later in the race from lap 36 to 39.
