Lando Norris responds to ‘number 1 driver' claim as Daniel Ricciardo prepares to leave McLaren
Lando Norris has been without a doubt the star performer at McLaren since he was joined by Daniel Ricciardo in 2021, with the 22-year-old having consistently beaten the former Red Bull driver. Norris has made the Australian look like a fool in 2022, with the British driver currently seventh in the Drivers' Championship on 88 points. Ricciardo, on the other hand, is embarrassingly in P14 in the standings, on a woeful 19 points. Apart from his magnificent victory at last season's Italian Grand Prix, Ricciardo has failed to deliver the speed and performances that the Woking-based team would've been hoping for when they signed him for 2021.
