Nyck de Vries meets with Helmut Marko to discuss 2023 Red Bull seat

Mercedes reserve driver, Nyck de Vries, is said to have met with Red Bull adviser, Dr Helmut Marko, about a possible opportunity next season. The Dutchman spent nine years in the McLaren programme, during the last of which he claimed the Formula 2 championship. A move to Formula 1 did not materialise though, so he turned to Formula E with the Mercedes EQ team, and he won the title in 2021. He and Stoffel Vandoorne helped the German side claim the teams’ championship two years running, but Mercedes have now been replaced by McLaren.
