Russell joining Mercedes could be an ‘advantage' for Red Bull

Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko has said that it would be beneficial for the team if George Russell were to push Sir Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes next year. Russell has been promoted to the Mercedes seat to replace the outgoing Valtteri Bottas, who is off to Alfa Romeo. It is a move that now means three of Mercedes’ last five signings have come from Williams. Russell managed his first F1 points at the Hungarian Grand Prix in the summer, before taking a podium finish at the farcical Belgian Grand Prix after the summer break. He out-qualified team-mates Robert Kubica and Nicholas Latifi 57 times in 59 races, and impressed many in the F1 paddock when he drove Hamilton's Mercedes in the 2020...
