Carlos Sainz had an unfortunate race during the United States Grand Prix. The Spaniard was unable to keep the two McLaren drivers behind him during the first few laps and was unable to fully repair the damage. Sainz worked hard to overtake Daniel Ricciardo, but was unable to do so. When Ferrari tried to outsmart him with an undercut, the Italian team was unable to make a faultless pit stop.
