Red Bull considered a third pit stop for Verstappen

It all began when the Dutchman was brought in for an early second stop. His Hard tyres had only lasted 19 laps, and yet they were worn to the canvas. With 27 laps still remaining, and championship rival Lewis Hamilton on tyres that were eight-laps fresher, Helmut Marko admits a three-stop strategy was considered by Red Bull.
