Aston Martin Closely Monitoring Mercedes’ Gains

The Aston Martin F1 Team will be keeping an eye on Mercedes’ performance gains this season, as both team’s 2021 cars have a similar aerodynamic design philosophy and share numerous components, team principal Otmar Szafnauer has said. Mercedes and Aston Martin have both been hit hard by the 2021 regulation changes, which mandated cuts to the rear floor area in a bid to lower cornering speeds and loads following a number of tyres bursting last season.
