Alonso latest driver to take grid penalty at United States GP

Article To news overview © Alpine Fernando Alonso will join Sebastian Vettel and George Russell at the back of the grid for the United States Grand Prix after taking on a new power unit. The move was confirmed by the FIA during Saturday's FP3 session, with Alpine opting to change the entire power unit, which includes the ICE, MGU-H, MGU-K, Turbocharger, Energy Store, Control Electronics and Exhaust System. As a result, Alonso will start Sunday's race at the Circuit of the Americas at the back of the grid with Vettel and Russell, who took new engines this weekend.
