The opening day for this weekend’s United States Grand Prix presented Pirelli’s tyres with a huge stress to deal with due to the high temperatures and the punishingly fast corners of the Circuit of the Americas. Formula One last visited the Circuit of the Americas in 2019 as the coronavirus pandemic forced to sport to call off the Texas race last year. Since then, around 40% of the track has been resurfaced.
