Esteban Ocon Alpine executive director Marcin Budkowski has claimed his team boasts the most evenly matched driver roster in the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. The squad formerly known as Renault has recovered from a slow start to hold the upper hand in a battle with AlphaTauri and Aston Martin for fifth in the constructors’ championship. Its biggest boost came at the Hungarian Grand Prix last month, where Esteban Ocon took victory, aided significantly by team-mate Fernando Alonso’s efforts to blunt Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton’s charge through the field.
