Alpine looking to step up F1 involvement

Alpine is looking for ways to place its Academy drivers in F1 Alpine is exploring at ways to increase its involvement in Formula 1 as it looks to find a home for its Academy drivers. The French operation currently supports three drivers in the FIA Formula 2 Championship – Guanyu Zhou, Oscar Piastri, and Christian Lundgaard – with Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon filling its two F1 seats. With the latter having recently signed an extension to his current contract, and also Alonso set to continue next season, there is currently no clear avenue for its junior drivers to progress.
