‘Perez's Sundays very strong, Saturdays need work'

Red Bull boss Christian Horner likes what he is seeing from Sergio Perez come race day, but the qualifying form is yet to come. Perez throughout his Formula 1 career has generated a reputation for being one of the best at managing tyre wear throughout a race, a skill which regularly served him well in the midfield. And by in large race days have been decent for the Mexican since joining Red Bull for 2021, Monaco being the latest example as he went from P9 on the grid to a P4 finish. But it was that latest poor showing in qualifying which meant that there was too much damage to undo in the race.
