A busy session saw Bottas log 25 laps, six more than Verstappen, to record a best of 1:18.504s. Verstappen recorded a 1:18.537s, just 0.033s slower, with Lewis Hamilton third best from Lando Norris in fourth. With the exception of Verstappen, the entire field headed out on track as the 60-minute session began, largely for installation laps.
