Mercedes axing Bottas for Russell mid-season would be 'a surprise' - Horner

GPFans Staff Tuesday 4 May 2021 12:35 Red Bull team principal Christian Horner does not believe Mercedes will axe Valtteri Bottas mid-season and replace him with George Russell. Bottas has been out of sorts this year, finishing 37 seconds adrift of the leading duo in team-mate Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull's Max Verstappen in the season-opening race in Bahrain before crashing out in Imola after a collision with Williams driver and Mercedes junior Russell.
