When Lewis Hamilton had his contract with Mercedes renewed for just one season, many a Formula One expert was convinced that the seven-time world champion will make his exit from motorsport's premier class after 2021. However, this weekend both Hamilton and Wolff have contradicted this, and a contract extension with Mercedes seems a likely option for the Briton. During Thursday's press briefing, Hamilton already hinted that he may yet want to sign on to remain in Formula One in 2022. Hamilton acknowledged that he "planning to be there next year."
