Silverstone announced as the first sprint race of the season!

Recently F1 Management announced that the decision was finally taken: sprint races will be added to the sport, and will be run during three races in the current season. At which of the races this would happen was still unclear, but now Silverstone has announced that they will be the first to include a sprint race in their race weekend. On its own website, the management of the legendary circuit said: "Silverstone is delighted to confirm that the British Formula 1 Grand Prix will be the first event to test the Sprint Qualifying format announced by Formula 1 and the FIA on 26 April."
