Ricciardo on Bahrain: I'd have sailed off into the sunset

Article To news overview © McLaren Daniel Ricciardo believes Red Bull's Max Verstappen should have just kept going after snatching the lead away from Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton towards the end of the Bahrain Grand Prix. Verstappen had caught Hamilton with three laps to go at Sakhir, and passed the Mercedes driver into Turn 4. However, he ran wide exiting the corner and exceeded track limits. FIA Race Director Michael Masi instructed Red Bull to cede the position, which Verstappen did. The Dutch driver was unable to get back in front before the end.
